Violent Young Women
A few years ago, they were the uncontrollable schoolgirls whom I encountered in numerous institutions while on supply. “I’ll get my dad down here”. No, it is not that girls are held to a higher standard than boys. Quite the reverse, in fact. At least beyond the most salubrious circles, assumed to be normal by politicians and commentators, girls are now routinely held to no standard at all. So what happens when they leave school? We are only just beginning to find out.
