The Irish Referendum On The Lisbon Treaty
Place your bets on a No vote. They got away with ratifying Nice anyway, but they couldn't pull off that trick a second time. So that will be the end of the wretched thing.
Or it means Ireland will become an associate, with trade & some genuflection towards the rules but less serious damage, rather than full member as like Norway became - this will probably please Brussels & the Irish too.
We should take not that, as over Nice, the No campaign in Ireland is a campaign against privatisation and militarisation.
Where is our campiagn like that? As with the far more Labour MPs than Tories who opposed Maastricht, the BBC and the rest of them are pretending that it doesn't exist.

ReplyDeleteWell, it certainly wouldn't please Brussels!
