Even By Its Own Standards
Even by the BBC's own standards, I have never heard anything as biased as this morning's Woman's Hour on the subject of abortion in Northern Ireland. Four extremely diverse parties, collectively representing more than ninety per cent of voters, defeated the attempt to extend the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland, an extension which Parliament has never attempted. But try telling that to the Beeb. The presenter didn't even pick up one interviewee who said that since people now had fewer children, they were entitled to expect them all to be "perfect"! Doubtless, this is self-evident in Beebworld.
