The children of the poor do less well at school, say the ever-insightful Tories. What is to be their next revelation, the death of Queen Anne?
There is a perfectly simple solution. But, despite having next to no other specific policy on education or anything else, they have specifically ruled it out.
Of course, if any of them had ever so much as met anyone who could name or locate so much as one state school, or who had ever had a conversation with anyone who had attended such an institution, then things might be different. Just how much can the Bertie Woosters of the current Shadow Cabinet be expected to know about such things? Or, indeed, about anything at all?
