Abstain from extramarital sexual activity, and from non-medical intravenous drug use. Who, exactly, is incapable of this, and why, exactly? Women? Black people? Poor people? Developing world people? Or just poor black women in the developing world? I think we should be told.
What about poor black women in the developing world who do indeed abstain from extramarital sexual activity but whose husbands, unknown to them, use prostitutes?
ReplyDeleteI'd have thought they were quite a good example of people who are highly vulnerable to HIV infection and who would benefit from better access to contraception.
(This doesn't just apply to "poor black women", of course.)
Men shouldn't go with prostitutes. And women shouldn't be them. Again, who, exactly, is incapable of observing these injunctions? And why, exactly?
ReplyDeleteNo, David, I'm talking about married women whose husbands, without their knowledge, use prostitutes. In other words, people who completely observe the injunctions you give, and still get infected with HIV.
ReplyDeleteWell, then, he wouldn't wear a condom anyway. And she wouldn't know to tell him to.
