At least Nick Clegg is honest. Far more honest than, say, those who even now treat the culturally Methodist agnosticism of Margaret “Christians believe in life after death and I am a Christian” Thatcher as the essence of devotion, but the culturally Methodist agnosticism of Neil “Jesus did not die on the Cross” Kinnock as atheism foaming at the mouth.
I have never taken any illegal drug. Nor should you. And I have nothing but contempt for any politician who fails to answer this very important question. Nor should you have.
Why? What difference does it make if a politician experienced drugs in their youth?
ReplyDeleteI would view it as a good thing if they had plenty of experience - They might actually consider drugs policy based on the actual reality instead of the hysteria spread by the tabloids.
But then I guess I'm just a loony libertarian.
That, and you answer your own question immediately upon moving on to the next paragraph.
ReplyDeleteWhat else do politicians need to have experienced first-hand in order to formulate or implement policy on them?
And would that "tabloid" views on drugs had ever had the slightest impact on drugs policy, under either party.
