Inheritors Together
I have no doubt that Gordon Brown was telling the truth when he said that he had already been looking at Inheritance Tax before the Tory Conference. Alas (and I write this despite having flirted with such notions in the past, although only as part of a complete rewriting of the tax code), there now seems to be a Political Class consensus in favour of the principle that inherited wealth should be tax-free. I wonder why?
