Wrong On Every Level
Bernard Kouchner was one of the very few French Socialists to support the Iraq War. His punishment for this gargantuan error? Appointment as Sarkozy's Foreign Minister. Of course.
Kouchner was against the Iraq War from the start. He wrote in Le Monde an article entitled 'Neither War nor Saddam' and that has been his position ever since. It's totally wrong for Stalinists like Neil Clark to imply otherwise in his mendacious article in the Guardian. It's all in Paul Berman's brilliant Power and Idealists book.

That's not what they're saying on the ghastly http://freerepublic.com. They're ecstatic.
ReplyDeleteAnd I didn't get this from Neil. I got it from Kouchner's record.
