Attitude Problem

The attitude that respectable working-class families should lose security of tenure in order to make way for decidedly non-respectable and non-working families is the same attitude that believes that everyone should go to university, because anyone who didn’t is somehow just scum, even if this means that there can be little or none of the public funding that confers public responsibilities on graduates as such.
