The Stuarts despised the Highlanders, but they ended up having to fall back on them, to the utter ruin of both.
Similarly, the right-wing Labour machine in general, and the BBC in particular, think that we on the Left would be obliged to go down with them, since at least they were not Nigel Farage or Donald Trump.
But between Labour and Farage, or Trump and the BBC, we are not even sorry that both sides cannot lose. They can, so we are organising both to the first end and with a view to the second outcome.
No, not like that. Enjoy the circuses while they lasted, but we are baking the bread. To mix metaphors, the Clearances will not be of us.
