After Jess Brown-Fuller was on last night's Newsnight, Miranda Green is on tonight's, while Josh Babarinde is on Question Time, with no one from either the Greens or Reform UK in any of those three cases. Someone has had a word about the BBC's persistent ignoring of the party that with 72 MPs was the third largest in the House of Commons, as well as having more Council Leaders than the Conservatives.
While I am no Liberal Democrat, that correction was long overdue. Yet we shall see whether it lasted to a third evening, never mind into next week. And before so much as yesterday, the Lib Dems had identified themselves as the party that would die in the last ditch to save, in the words of Ed Davey, "our precious BBC". All right, to save it from Donald Trump. But even so, why? According to Tolkien, Gollum "both loved and hated" his precious, "as he both loved and hated himself."
No Lib Dem on Any Questions tonight so it didn't last.
ReplyDeleteIt is from Northern Ireland tonight. But there is no one from the Alliance Party, the third largest party at Stormont. And the most pro-BBC. Why?
