The BBC had a liveblog, which may still be running, about the routine banning of a football club’s notoriously hooligan fans from an away fixture. On all the networks, it was the main, and almost the only, news all day yesterday until it was knocked down to the second item by the announcement that the Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh would no longer be calling himself the Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh.
