Or What Was It All For?
If the Afghan system is incapable of trying justly this American, then why did we fight to install it, and why are we fighting to defend it?
If I have read the situation correctly, the UK/USA extradition agreement allows the USA to extradite UK nationals to the USA for trial if the USA authorities claim a crime has been committed in their country. If this is so, then the USA can hardly deny the request from the Afghan authorities to hold the trial in the country in which the crime was committed. Sauce, goose, and gander come to mind. Somehow I don't think it will happen.
