Immigration? Why Bother?

After all, Birmingham City Council, the largest local authority in Europe, is sending its jobs to India. So much easier than moving the people here, where in a generation or two they might learn enough to have to be paid properly. Assuming that the minimum wage and all collective bargaining rights had not been abolished by then. The first, at least, is seriously being considered. It's like Tony Blair all over again, but without Gordon Brown.
