Girls started massively outperforming boys in the very year that GCSEs replaced O-levels, and have done so every year since. Is that supposed to be a coincidence?<br /><br />Before that, except for statistically rogue years every now and then, girls only slightly outperformed boys, simply because of the differences between the sexes at that age.
