The Americans invade...I don't see the problem. The Americans invaded Iraq, located Saddam's nuclear arsenal, destroyed it, and left, and -oh wait.<br /><br />The reason for the fizzle is the lack of a narrative over the war, and the reason for the lack of a narrative is the ridiculous lies used to justify the invasion in the first place. Because there has been no proper investigation of the lies, not even the half-inquries you got in the U.K., we still really have no idea why the U.S. invaded Iraq in the first place. So we have no idea what the soldiers "accomplished."<br /><br />And also if Iraq veterans turn out to have more difficulty than the norm in adjusting to "postwar" civilian society, it will be ultimately for the same reason.Ednoreply@blogger.com
