One year of Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope.
He should do the most American and the most Papal thing ever, and excommunicate the German Synodalists and the Society of Saint Pius X on the same day, as well as anathematising certain errors that, quite by chance, happened to be sayings of JD Vance and the like.
Those who would object to that last would have at most one bishop, and he would be most unlikely to go through with formal schism.
“ and excommunicate the German Synodalists and the Society of Saint Pius X on the same day, as well as anathematising certain errors that, quite by chance, happened to be sayings of JD Vance and the like.”
ReplyDeleteYou’ve said this nonsense before-if you can’t tell the difference between rebelling against the Pope on doctrinal matters (as the German Synodalists have) and on mere tweets on theological matters where his views are not binding, you’re just not a Catholic.
Why do you repeat this nonsense?
Vance, among others, has expressed grave errors. He got the ordo amoris wrong, and much else besides. He wants to be taken seriously as a theological thinker. Well, then, let him be so taken.
DeleteThey'd only say the excommunications weren't valid.
ReplyDeleteSo what? The excommunications would in fact be valid.
DeleteVance should never have been received into the Catholic Church.
ReplyDeleteHe was clearly inadequately prepared. Someone needs to answer for the decision that the Elegiac Hillbilly was too big a catch to risk letting slip. No one is like that.
