If the BBC, its staff or its contractors understandably objected to being called "dishonest" and "corrupt", then they should sue Donald Trump.
And if Trump were going to sue the BBC, then he should do so in England, where he would stand a much better chance of winning, but where the damages would be far lower. It is the principle. Isn't it?
It’s not clear where President Trump is planning to take any legal action against the BBC, but here in the U.K. he is out of time. The limit for libel in the U.K. is 12 months from first publication or broadcast and that was October 28, 2024.
