Real and Enduring

You do have to admire the chutzpah. When Iraq was invaded, then the risk of retaliation was so obvious that MI5's budget had to be doubled. But now, it fancies pulling off the same trick because of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

And if you believe that, even before this terrifying outbreak of peace, Britain had been spared 31 terrorist attacks in the last four years, around one every six weeks and at a "late stage" in every case, then you must never be able to bring yourself to get out of bed.

  1. They are guaranteeing Labour won't call for repeal of the Police Bill and Elections Bill once they'd become law.

    1. But it was no more going to do that than the other side was ever going to repeal the last Labour Government's attacks on civil liberties. It voted against some of them, but purely for show. And here we are again.
