No Enduring Freedom Here

After the Afghans' defeat of the occupation must come the Afghans' overthrow of the Taliban. They were a means, not the end.

But women of Afghanistan, noisy protests such as yours will soon be illegal in Britain, when the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill became law.

And the objections to the appointment of Sirajuddin Haqqani as Interior Minister ring a little hollow from people who between 2017 and 2019 were happy for their Commons majority to be provided by Ulster Resistance, which has never declared a ceasefire.

Ever since, the DUP's MPs have functioned as just right-wing Conservatives. Accordingly, on 5th July, all eight of them voted for Third Reading of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, which will criminalise here such noisy demonstrations as we are seeing on the streets of Afghanistan.
