Where It Is Due

No more two child cap. Payment directly to your landlord if you want it. And no more monthly payment for new claimants.

Monthly payment. Into the bank. That is how utterly middle-class this whole idea has always been.

Universal Credit is in its death throes. This is Amber Rudd's pitch for Leader of the Conservative Party. Yes, this. And yes, the Conservative Party.

The broadcast of I, Daniel Blake, one week ago tonight, will stand as one of this decade's most monumental events in British social and political history.

Not that most of the Parliamentary Labour Party will have noticed or cared. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.

It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.

I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
